Board of Christian Care
|
- This board oversees the implementation of our Lord’s directive
to
love and serve one another. Through various activities, the board
members raise the congregation’s awareness of the needs of our own
members and of those in our surrounding community in times of need
and/or crisis. The board performs the following:
- Oversees collection and distribution of funds, store
certificates, or specific items to those in severe financial need.
- Maintains a current list of available agencies for help
with various financial, medical, and psychosocial needs.
- Collaborates with other agencies whenever possible (ie:
Samaritan House, food pantries, Gifts for All God’s Children, etc.).
- Oversees
the supervision and direction of the Parish Health Team within our
congregation and assists them in promoting this ministry.
- Conducts bi-annual blood drives for the American Red Cross
and promotes the importance of donating blood for those in need.
- Oversees
the supervision and/or maintenance of the Prayer Chain (both telephone
and e-mail chains) and assists in promoting this ministry.
- We encourage and invite mission-minded members to assist us in
serving people in need and acting as an extension of God’s hands.
