Travel
to Bethlehem
In
June, St. Peter began a fitness program of traveling 6000 miles to
Bethlehem by walking, biking, jogging, or swimming. Our goal
was to
reach Bethlehem by Christmas.
We have reached that goal in record time, and have decided to travel
25,182 miles around the world. Our new goal is well under
way, and we
hope to reach it by Christmas. We currently have 80
participants, but
there is always room for more. If you are interested in
getting fit
and traveling with fellow St. Peter
members, you can look for traveling information outside of the cry room
in the church narthex, or in the back of Kaiser Hall.
Questions,
contact Jackie at 786-1977 or jwangelin56@comcast.net.

Project
12 Baskets
Our
partnership with Project12Baskets is allowing us to collect donated
items of value and turn them into dollars. Their support staff and
system connects us to a variety of public electronic auction sites and
resale specialists. This process delivers broad participation and
increases the price of items to their optimal value. As the sales take
place, we get the dollars and the donors get a wonderful tax deduction!
Project12Baskets
draws its name from the story of the feeding of the 5000. There we read
how the Lord took meager provisions, 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, and
fed a small army of followers. He fed everyone and when the crowd had
eaten until they were full, He said to his disciples, "Why don't you
pick up the leftovers." When they did, to their surprise, there were 12
baskets filled to the top.
Project12Baskets
challenges us to
look closely at that abundance to determine if what was once precious
might now serve the Lord in a more useful and immediate
manner. Click here for more information:
