My name is Wanda Ritz and I’ve been working with first graders for 37 years. I went to school at Concordia Ann Arbor (Junior College at that time) and received my BA from Concordia River Forest in Illinois. I have been at St. Peter since 1995.
God has sent me to Texas and brought me back home to Michigan to work with His little ones and share the Gospel news of His son, our Savior Jesus.
When I am not in the classroom you may find me reading, with family, or walking the boardwalk and beaches of Grand Haven.
…Fear not, for I have redeemed you: I have summoned you by name: you are Mine. Isaiah 42:1
There is no greater joy for me than to know that I have been redeemed and belong to God!
Karla Hardies – 1st Grade Teacher
My name is Karla Hardies and this is my 22nd year teaching in Lutheran schools.
I received my teaching degree from Concordia Chicago, followed by my master’s degree from Saginaw Valley State University.
I feel blessed to be here at St. Peter, where each day we get to spend time praising our Savior, learning more about Him, and living in His forgiveness.
My husband Mike and I have three kids who keep us very busy, but in our free time, we like to explore new restaurants around the area and take in all that Metro Detroit has to offer!
I am excited for a great year with my firsties. Through their eyes, I am able to see all the joy that life has for us! One of my favorite Bible verses reminds me of that JOY that we have in Christ:
May the God of hope fill you with all JOY and PEACE as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:35
