Molly Wyeth – 3rd Grade Teacher
My name is Molly Wyeth, and I am one of the third grade teachers here at St. Peter. Before coming to St. Peter, I taught at St. Paul in Aurora, Illinois. Lutheran education has played a very important part in my upbringing. I come from a family of teachers and following in the footsteps of my mom I became a Lutheran School Teacher.
There is no better experience than being able to share your faith and pray with your students and classmates, which led me to teach in a Lutheran school. I attended Trinity Lutheran School in Port Huron before attending and graduating from Concordia University Ann Arbor with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, majoring in Language Arts with a minor in Early Childhood Education.
It was at Camp Arcadia, a Lutheran camp in northern Michigan that I met and married my husband Andy. The two of us love taking vacations to national parks where we are able to explore and hike through God’s magnificent creation. In my spare time away from school I love running, photography, golfing and reading. I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to move back to Michigan and teach here at St. Peter’s.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary and Secondary Education from Concordia University, Chicago and my Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University. My entire education up to my Masters’ degree was at a Lutheran school. I was blessed with parents and teachers who ministered to me and showed me the value of my Christian education as well as setting high standards for my life.
After teaching now for almost 25 years in our Lutheran schools, my greatest joy is still teaching my students about the love of Jesus throughout the school day and seeing their personal faith grow while also seeing them grow academically and emotionally throughout the year. Learning is a life-long endeavor.
I am blessed with two grown children – Alex and Emelie, and my parents live nearby. I cherish my time with them all. In my free time I enjoy exercising, watching the Green Bay Packers and any sports for that matter, spending time outside, walking my dog Hans, and working around my house. I hope to travel more in the future.
