Julia Evola – 5th Grade Teacher
My name is Julia Evola and I have been teaching for six years. This is my third year here at St. Peter teaching 5th grade. I graduated from Concordia University, Nebraska in 2009 with a BS in Middle Level Education with concentrations in English and Spanish. After graduating, I taught Middle School English at a Lutheran school in Kansas City, Missouri. I enjoy sharing my love of learning and Jesus with my students each year.
I met my husband here in Michigan and we were married at St. Peter, August 2014. We have a rambunctious Maine Coon cat at home that constantly keeps us entertained. Currently she’s our only “child”. When I have free time, I like to run (a half marathon is on my bucket list), drink coffee, and travel.
Jane Otto – 5th Grade Teacher
My name is Miss Jane Otto. I have been teaching for 33 years. Thirty of those years have been in Lutheran Education in grades 2-5. I was fortunate to teach for three years in Germany at a Department of Defense Dependent School. I grew up on the west side of Detroit. I graduated from the Detroit Public School system. It was during 8th grade I decided to become a teacher. With the help of my DCE I followed the path to teach in Lutheran schools. I went on to attend Concordia University in Seward, NE. I furthered my education by getting a Masters in Reading from Eastern Michigan University.
It is a blessing from God that I became a Lutheran teacher coming from a public background. I enjoy having the freedom to share God’s Word everyday with children. Lutheran Education is a wonderful foundation for children to build upon their life.
In my free time I enjoy being outdoors by biking, jogging, and gardening. God has blessed me with the love of travel to explore all His creations. I visited several states and countries.
