Kim Streeter – 6th Grade Teacher

My name is Kim Streeter and I have been teaching here at St. Peter since 1978. It has been an honor to be at one place so long. I have now taught many students and their children. What an awesome experience to see the type of adults they have become. I have taught grades 5-8 but mostly sixth and seventh. I spent two years at Concordia Ann Arbor and then two more years at Concordia River Forest near Chicago. After my undergraduate degree, I earned a Master’s degree from Saginaw Valley State University.

As I enter my 37th year here at St. Peter, I have enjoyed being very involved with sports. I was Athletic Director for many years and I coached football, soccer, volleyball, track, basketball, and softball. I especially loved my 35 years of coaching Track and seeing how the program grew. Now I am coaching Basketball for 5th and 6th grade boys and then 7th and 8th grade boys. We have won one State Championship and one team went to Nationals. I hope to repeat these experiences in the near future.

My family is very close and I have two brothers and a sister. We usually spend a week together on a lake each summer and get together many times over the holidays as my sister and brother are also teachers. I am single at the present time but you never know what God has in store for our future.

I love to bike during the summer and daily you can find me on a bike trail doing about 20 miles. If I go farther, I might even reward myself with some ice cream… ha. I also love to be on the water and fishing is a true love of mine. Sports are what keep me busy. I enjoy bowling, golfing, fantasy baseball or football and many more.

I am so thankful to be a member here at St. Peter where members cherish their church and the education that has been provided. We have a rich history of providing Christian education in our Day School as well as spiritual growth in our church. I pray God continues to bless St. Peter well into the future.

Phil Wargo – 6th Grade Teacher

Welcome to 6th grade at St. Peter! My name is Phil Wargo. I’m in my 7th year of teaching science and reading here at St. Peter and my 12th year of teaching overall. I am a proud graduate of Trinity Lutheran Grade School (Wyandotte, MI Go Flames), 1994 graduate of Lutheran East (Harper Woods) and 1998 graduate of Concordia (it will always be RIVER FOREST) Chicago. I received my Masters from Xavier University in Cincinnati.

My twins keep my wife Nicki and I active and busy, but I wouldn’t trade their energy for anything. Nicki, my lovely wife, teaches Kindergarten here at St. Peter. My family enjoys all the time we get to be together. If I am not at school, I am hopefully in a boat fishing somewhere, watching Tiger Baseball, or worrying about Michigan football and basketball all this while enjoying a refreshing Mt. Dew.

I love teaching 6th grade at St. Peter. Above all, I get to instill Christ’s life changing love, grace and forgiveness daily to my students. What an awesome privilege and honor! In addition to teaching, I have also enjoyed coaching, working with our youth groups, and various other ministries. Within the classroom, I enjoy using technology to enhance student learning and helping my students achieve their Godgiven talents while learning about His creation.

Thanks for reading. And thank you to all the students and families, both past and current, for the opportunity to build ChristCentered relationships together here at St. Peter. To God be the Glory!
