Johnson_Miss Andrea29Andrea Johnson – 7th Grade Teacher

My name is Andrea Johnson, and this is my 5th year teaching overall, and second year at St. Peter. I primarily teach 7th and 8th Grade Math. I am truly blessed by the other faculty, staff, and families here! I graduated from Concordia University Ann Arbor (GO CARDS!) in 2010 with a degree in Elementary Mathematics, as well as my Lutheran Teacher Diploma. I am currently working on my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia Ann Arbor and Concordia Wisconsin. I currently coach Girls A 7/8th Grade volleyball and basketball, and I love every minute of it!

I come from a family of teachers. Both of my parents teach at a Lutheran school in Indianapolis, one of my three sisters also teaches at a Lutheran school, as does one of my brothers-in-law. I am blessed by all of my family even though I live pretty far away from all of them. I have three nephews and one niece whom I love to spoil when I get the opportunity to see them. I have a Border Collie/Spaniel mutt, Aero, who is 5. We love to go on long walks and road trips together!

I have several various hobbies and passions. As mentioned, I coach volleyball and basketball here at St. Peter. It is a true joy! I played volleyball and softball all through high school, and played basketball in college at CUAA. I come from a very musical family and enjoy singing and playing my Tenor Saxophone. I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan; I fell in love with them during my childhood when Emmitt Smith and Troy Aikman were at the helm! I also love photography, long walks on the beach, watching sports of any kind, and doing crafts!

I am beyond blessed to be a part of the Ministry here at St. Peter! I cannot imagine teaching anywhere else. The junior high students that I have the opportunity to spend time with every day are a joy to me, and I love watching them grow into fine young men and women of faith!

Jason Murray – 7th Grade Teacher

My name is Jason Murray. I have an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences in Culinary Arts that I earned from Schoolcraft College. I also earned a Bachelors’ Degree from Saginaw Valley State in Teaching.  I also have a certificate endorsement in educational technology from Michigan State. I have been teaching for 9 years and 6 of those have been here at St. Peter.

I live in Shelby Township with my wife, Melissa, and my two boys, Gabriel and Alexander. I grew up in the Lutheran faith and attended Bethlehem Lutheran in Roseville, where my grandfather was the pastor for 30 years. I attended grade school at St. Thomas Lutheran in Eastpointe. Gabriel attends school at St. Peter, and Alexander will be here soon. Melissa is a nurse for McClaren Hospital.

I enjoy cooking, fishing, reading, camping, serving others, working for God, and my charcoal Weber grill.
